Ruth and Stacey met in March 2007 at the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project's Saturday Reunion. Ruth attended Stacey's session, which was about grant writing.  Ruth and Stacey blog at Two Writing Teachers.


Ruth has been in education since 2000. Her first years were spent teaching seventh graders language arts.   She is a Writing Coach for Wawasee School District, located in Northern Indiana.

Ruth obtained a M.S. Ed. in Educational Leadership and a B.S. in Secondary Education, both from Indiana University. She has gleaned much knowledge from the professional development offered by the All-Write Consortium.  


Ruth lives in Indiana with her husband and three children.

Stacey is a fourth grade teacher in Rhode Island.  She taught in East Harlem for three years after changing careers from public relations to education.  Stacey co-authored a book with ten of her former students, and her former student teacher, entitled  DEAL WITH IT! Powerful Words from Smart, Young Women (2007). 

Stacey has a M.A. in Literacy Education from Teachers College at Columbia University, a M.S.Ed. in Childhood Education from Hunter College and a B.A. in Communication from The George Washington University.   She has attended several of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project's Summer Summer Institutes.

Stacey lives in Rhode Island with her husband.
